Description

  • This design combines all the advantages of quarry trenchers while eliminating the need for a bottom trench. Furthermore, it is more cost-effective and easier to run and maintain.
  • More suitable for the Overworld, as water is used for explosion protection. It only requires digging a border frame, marked by moss blocks at the four corners, down to bedrock. There is no need to manually clear the entire area. Each corner is equipped with tunnel bores at the top, which can automatically dig downward to the bottom, provided that all fluids have been removed beforehand. Alternatively, simply activating the tunnel bores is also a viable option. If you encounter fluids during operation, clear them before continuing.
  • For a smooth wall finish, you can place water streams along the border. Note: water streams, not water source blocks — this is essential. The interior also includes a convenient device for placing waterlogged stairs while AFK.
  • The design is snow-proof but not ice-proof. Also note that amethyst growth can break the water wall, and sculk sensors near the water wall may activate the pistons that push down the stairs.

Duper:

  • 1x honeyless version: Has a very small chance of destroying gravity-affected blocks outside the water wall. When the TNT's random momentum direction is at a 30° angle to the positive or negative X or Z axis, a small part of it will clip into the slime block, causing it to be bounced off and land on the machine, thus breaking it. If possible, I will fix this in the next version.
  • 1x kelp-proof version: Has a higher chance of destroying gravity-affected blocks outside the water wall, but it won’t break by the TNT random momentum, because the TNT has already fallen far enough away from the slime blocks before it can be bounced off. There is a small chance that it will not completely clear the blocks under the stairs — if that happens, simply clear them manually and reset the drainer.
  • 2x honeyless/kelp-proof version: The TNT will not destroy the blocks outside the water wall, even those with a resistance of zero, and this device won’t break by the TNT random momentum too. But, there is also a small chance that it will not completely clear the blocks under the stairs — if that happens, simply clear them manually and reset the drainer.

Usage:

  • Descent shaft: Dig down from each moss block marker to the bedrock, then use the top tunnel bores to dig further down. Once done, remove the tunnel bores. Pour water streams along the border if smooth walls are desired.
  • Main build: Build the remaining structure. Set the schematic to hide the top tunnel bores, then verify it. After that, place the side stairs — this order helps avoid mistakes.
  • Stairs: Stand inside a composter, face the sign, and close the trapdoor. While holding stairs, right-click on the lower half of the composter. Continue until you can no longer place stairs from your current position, then remove the blocking piston and place the remaining stairs at the end.
  • Start/Stop: Right-click the note block to start; click it again to stop. The redstone lamp acts as a status indicator, so you can easily know whether it's running or not.
